NANDOS OR NANDON'T?
Jul 21, 2010

Nandos has been the regular dating spot for many of us, but are its days numbered?
Is it still looked upon as a restaurant or is it now just a fast food place to get posh chicken and chips? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not throwing away my Nandos loyalty card just yet, but are we missing out on a lot of other great restaurants and just putting up with second best due to the fact you are going on a date and will only spend £15 at the most.
I think Nandos is great for food to enjoy with a group of friends, or even for a birthday. However when it comes to a date it can make you look predictable. In reality you are only doing what loads of other guys before you have done. I can understand that you don’t want to break the bank whilst there is a rescission looming and taxes are rising every other week. However a few restaurants that can get you that second date and leave her telling her girls about how DIFFERENT you are from her ex:
Pizza Express **** ££
Now from the outside it might look like its going to cost an arm and a leg but you'll find it's a little cheaper than Nandos and the service is just like a top class restaurant.
PROS: They’re dotted all over London
CONS: The Pizza’s aren’t as filling as deep pan, so you might have to order
a starter.
Wagamama *** £££
It’s a nice and chilled Pan-Asian noodle restaurant and it's quiet and relaxed atmosphere is the perfect place to get to know someone.
PROS: It's a different type of food and experience and perfect for lunch.
CONS: The seats are very close and have that American High School cafeteria kind of feel to it.
Zizzi **** £££
I went to this place with a group of friends and had so much fun. I also noticed a lot of couples dinning there. If you think you know Italian, think again; Zizzi will open up your mind .
PROS: It’s a large menu with a lot to choose from and the quality of the food is really good for the price.
CONS: They're a bit hard to find so do your research before hand, especially if your date is wearing her fancy six inch heels. She won't be impressed if she has to go gallivanting up and down the streets of London.
Wherever you decide to go on your date, try and make it a good one!
