FUN TIMES IN THE SUMMER
Jun 04, 2010

The old days of the good ol British summer may have gone - but lets bring on the new time...
It’s been a long time coming but it looks like summer's finally here. But before you all head to Hype Park I mean Hyde and start buying your white Air Force 1’s and sunglasses from TK Maxx we need to ask ourselves, will the good weather last the distance, and will Great Britain finally have a great summer, or shall I start my pension plan early and move to the southern hemisphere?
Right about now I’m going to take you back. Do you remember waking up when you was young thinking that you had school, but didn't? Remember the feeling you got when you realised it was actually the six weeks holiday. Your friends would knock for you around 11am to play out, then you'd be back around 3pm for an ice pole. Next thing would be the water fights, playing 40/40 aka Run Outs and asking for 70p from your friends for Crewball or a Zapp from the ice cream van, until the sun would set around 10pm. Now close your eyes and you can actually picture that lovely heat we used to feel. Those were the days (sigh with a smile).
But we all know them days are few and far between and now our summer barely begins, and except for the odd hot day, is usally a total washout . But maybe, just maybe if we all pray and cross our fingers for a hot summer, 2010 may just give us one. Why not save the money you would have spent abroad and enjoy yourself some British summer. With the World Cup just around the corner and Notting Hill Carnival topping it off at the end of August, I’m sure you’ll not regret not going away to Ayia Napa this year and trying to un-tag yourself from photos that never should have been taken!
