Jun 09, 2010

Take a look at our money saving tips suggesting ways to have fun in the sun on a tight budget
I wont lie to you, the sun makes you spend money faster than a rich girl with here daddy’s credit card, and with unemployment at 2.5 million them trips to Oxford Street and Westfield may have to be be put on hold. Here are my top three money saving tips to enjoy the sun on a budget:
Number 3: Bike Riding
Now when I say bike riding I don’t mean doing a wheelie for five minutes to impress you friends or going to the shops on that little kids bike who thinks he's never going to get it back again. I mean you and some friends taking a stroll through the park or even on a mini adventure. But if you’re thinking: “I don’t own a bicycle?” then you’re in luck. There are hundreds of bicycle company’s who rent out bikes and also organize tours to local parks. It leaves out all the hassle of owing your own bike, but just make sure you don’t take it home afterwards - it's a rental!
Number 2: Picnic
If you don’t want people in your house, why not take your house to the park. I’m talking about a picnic. The days of having a checkered blanket with a basket of sandwiches and some fruit are over. But when I say over, I mean the sandwiches and fruit. Bring the blanket and basket but fill it up with some rice and chicken and coleslaw instead. Plus don't forget to bring speakers for your iPod as well. With all that in hand, you're all set to have a mini party in the park - just remember to put your rubbish in the bin.
Number 1: Water Fights
The sun brings heat and with the heat you need to be cooled down. What better way than with an energetic water fight - even if you are a big man. Water fights are free, fun and everyone of all ages can play. You don’t even need to leave your area, and best of all it cools you down, keeps you fit, and if your using water bombs, costs barely nothing.
