E.ENTSIR: RISING STAR

Pulse Magazine introduces you to Eugene aka E.ENTSIR...

Backtrack to when Eugene was at university, it was clear his focus was on one goal; making music. E.ENTSIR was sure to be going places and had already been through his share of trails and tribulations. At the tender age of 18 he had already dealt with being dropped by a major recording label.

Fast forward to 2010; the now 21 year old E.ENTSIR is signed to Musical Genius, has performed alongside UK music stars such as Tinie Tempah and Tinchy Stryder (to name a few) and his debut Mixtape aptly named “Let The Games Begin” is available to download now.

SO E.ENSTIR, WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I grew up in South Kilburn...originally from Ghana!

YOUR DEBUT MIXTAPE 'LET THE GAMES BEGIN' IS OUT NOW. WHAT INFLUENCED AND INSPIRED YOUR ALBUM?
My inspirations for my mixtape was my fans. I realised I was followed by many and I was always asked when my music will be out. Also because of my cousin Ernest Ansah, rest in peace. We were close and he passed away in 2008, that's when I started taking music real serious!

YOU HAVE A BIG SUPPORT FROM INDUSTRY INSIDERS, INCLUDING UK HIP HOP STAR SWAY...
He's always supported my stuff, and I go to him for advice.

SWAY ALSO FEATURED IN YOUR MUSIC VIDEO 'THIS IS HOW WE DO' FT CEO. HOW DID HE BECOME SUCH A MENTOR TO YOU?
Well my manager/owner of AlliAnce Music Group is good friends with him. My managers brother started AlliAnce and at one point SWAY was signed to them.

TAKING IT BACK TO THE BEGINNING, HOW DID YOUR JOURNEY GET STARTED?
Well in 2008 whilst at Derby Uni (after being dropped by my then label) I decided to use the last bit of my student loan to book studio time. So I invested in a days worth of time and made three demos, one of which was played on BBC1 XTRA by Ras Kwame. The song was called 'On A Roll'. Then I began to promote the song on Facebook and started getting a following.

WHAT WENT THROUGH YOUR MIND WHEN YOUR DEMO WAS PLAYED ON AIR?
I was thinking I must be doing something right! And this was the start of my journey to the top.

NOWADAYS YOU PERFORM ALONGSIDE BIG NAMES IN THE INDUSTRY, WHATS THAT LIKE?
It's cool you know, you just got to remember that you're there to make music but also keep it relaxed.

OUR GENERATION TODAY CAN BE MISGUIDED; WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO THOSE WITH AMBITION AND DREAMS TO GET THEM STARTED?
Follow you heart. And if you genuinely believe in what you want to do in life...nothing will stop you.

AMEN! FINALLY WHAT CAN YOUR FAN BASE EXPECT FROM THE DEBUT ALBUM?
My fan base can expect explosive music skipping through all urban genres. Remember I rap,sing and MC!
