Abstrakt talks to Pulse about his love for all that is music
Having come from a musical background, Abstrakt is no stranger to how music can change and influence other people's lives. Originally from east London, Abstrakt describes his music as new age R&B and Hip-Hop fusion. The versatile artist who doesn't want to be type-cast, can be found rapping and harmonising on his tracks. His inspirations come from everyday life, as well as artists such as Drake and T-Pain.
For Abstrakt, the messages within his music are more important than the actual delivery. However the 21 year old is no stranger to the foundations and is currently studying Music Composition at The University of Hertfordshire: “Music helps me get through a day.”
For Abstrakt. his greatest accomplishment so far has been the positive responses he has received from supporters. When asked whether he would consider changing his style, image or lyrics to be accepted into the mainstream, Abstrakt told Pulse: “Everything's about give and take, so I could tone down, but I don't think I would change who I am as a person to be accepted”. And added: “That's just faking it.”
With two successful mixtapes and an EP under his belt, Abstrakt is currently working on his next record. And although he is not giving a lot away says that there will be songs for all occasions.
