FOOTBALL OVERVIEW - BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE

The footie season has only just begun and we've already witnessed some thrilling results, with 6-0 wins all over the weekend!
This weekends action saw some big wins from teams in the Barclays Premiership league. With three teams securing 6-0 victories, there were some very pleased and some very sad supporters!
Saturday 21st August!
Chelsea beat Wigan 6-0
This thrashing means that Chelsea are sitting comfortable at the top of the table with six points.
Goal scorers: Malouda on the 34th min, Anelka on the 48th and 52th min and Kalou on the 78th and 90th min; with Benayoun also scoring a goal on the 90 min.
Arsenal beat Blackpool 6-0
The North London side thrashed newly qualified team Blackpool.
Goal scorers: Walcott scored a hatrick with goals coming on the 12th, 39th and 58th minute. Arshavin scored a penalty on the 32nd min whilst Diaby got a goal on the 49th min and Chamakh made it a sixth in the 83rd min.
Man U secured a 2-2 draw with Fulham
An own goal, means that Man U are currently third in the table with four points.
Goal scorers: Davies scored on the 57th min and Hangeland scored on the 89th for Fulham, whilst Scholes scored on the 11th for Man U and Hangeland scored an own goal 84th min making it a draw.
Bolton beat West Ham 3-1
There win against West Ham means that Bolton are currently sitting pretty in fourth position with four points.
Goal scorers: Upson scored an own goal on the 48th min giving Bolton the lead whilst Elmander secured a win by scoring two more. One goal came on the 68th min with the next on the 84th minute. Noble secured a penalty goal for West Ham on the 79th min.
On Sunday 22nd August!
Newcastle beat Aston Villa 6-0
Sunday finished off the weekend of exciting and trilling games with Newcastle beating Aston Villa six goals to none.
Goal scorers: Barton scored on the 12th min, Nolan on the 31 and 87th min, whilst Carroll scored a hatrick on the 34th , 67th and 90th min.
